Maison Marsanne is part of Domaine La Flotte and sits on the south-west end of the main building.
Domaine de La Flotte is an estate situated on the “Col de La Flotte” where you have a beautiful view of the Pyrenees, is an oasis of quiet, wooded hills and meadows.
You can make magnificent walks here and enjoy the unspoilt nature or explore the surroundings on a mountain-bike. You can hire one of the horses and go for a ride in the hillside, with guide Manuel.
You can make use of the (shared) swimming pool (round, 6 m) or go to one of the nearby lakes: Lac Montbel or Lac de Puivert, where you can swim, surf, sail or hire a pedalo.
In Chalabre, only a 10 minutes drive away, you will find shops, a supermarket, a bank and restaurants.
There is a market every Monday morning in Mirepoix (25 minutes driving).
From the ruins of an old farm 5 new houses have arisen.
Each house has its own terrace, so your privacy is guaranteed. The only thing they share is the pool and the lovely view to the Pyrenees.
Maison Marsanne has its entrance on the side. You enter into the kitchen (dishwasher, hob, microwave/oven, fridge, freezer, coffeemaker, toaster) with dining-place (6 people) and the living-room with large arched doors on the side and in front, leading to the terrace. There is a small room for the washing machine. In the hall-way there is a toilet and the stairs that lead to the first floor, where you will find the 2 bedrooms (with twin beds) each with their own shower room with toilet and wash-bowl.
There is a barbecue area and a terrace next to the house. View to pool, forest and Pyrenees.

Banks, shops, bakery and good restaurants within 10 mins at Chalabre, 20 mins at Mirepoix and 25 mins at Limoux (markets on Friday).

Limoux, famous for its carnaval and its blanquette is also just 25 minutes driving away and the medieval Cité of Carcassonne only 35 minutes.
Other interesting sites: Gorges de Galamus, cathar castles Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Puylaurens etc.
The Tour de France passes close by every year.
The Mediterranean coast is just about an hour driving and also a day trip to Andorra or to Spain is possible (about two hours driving).
Golf course at 25 km (18 holes).
The Lac de Montbel with its beaches is at 20 mins distance. Carcassonne is half an hour away. Cathar castles are all within reach (Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Montségur…) as is the spectacular “Gorges de Galamus” (canyon).
River activities: canoeing, rafting and kayaking and river swimming in the Aude. The area around Quillan and Axat is ideal for white water rafting, canoeing and canyoning.
A climb up the Pech de Bugarach is worth doing! Or a visit to Rennes-le-Château!

- Motorway: A61 coming from Narbonne or Toulouse, exit no. 23 Carcassonne. From there it is about 40 minutes driving.
